Beam Delivery |
Following production of the beam comes the beam delivery equipment, that is, the equipment necessary to deliver the therapeutic particle beam to the patient. In particular, the beam delivery equipment is required to:
- Direct the particle beam accurately;
- Produce a transverse and longitudinal dose distribution accurately; and
- Deliver the appropriate dose;
and is contained within the treatment room.
